“Cuba, Libre?” Documentary Wins More Awards

Cuba, Libre?, the 2016 documentary film by Tales Told From The Road publisher, Dick Jordan, recently won two more film competition awards.

In January, the film received an Award of Recognition from the IMPACT DOCS Awards whose “goal is to discover and honor the achievements of filmmakers who produce high quality documentaries.”

The following month, Cuba, Libre? received a similar award in the the Accolade Global Film Competition.

“Established in 2003 and Currently in its 14th year, Accolade Global Film Competition is an avant-garde worldwide competition that strives to give talented directors, producers, actors, creative teams and new media creators the positive exposure they deserve. It discovers and honors the achievements of filmmakers who produce high quality films and projects across a multitude of genres.”

These two awards follow a Platinum Award which the film received in the Oregon International Film Awards Documentary Feature Competition in November of 2017.

Cuba, Libre? remains in consideration in eight additional film festivals and film awards competitions scheduled to take place between now and early 2019.

The film’s opening title tag line, “Will Americans Ever Again Travel Freely to Cuba?,” makes the documentary even more relevant to viewers now that the Trump Administration has followed through on its promise made last summer to retreat from the steps taken by President Obama to have a closer relationship between the U.S. and Cuba, including barring Americans from traveling to the island nation as individuals not part of a group tour.

Cuba, Libre? has had several public screenings and has aired on more than forty public access televisions stations across the United States.
