The Year of Flying Dangerously

My four-part essay, The Year of Flying Dangerously, that ran on this blog in September and October of 2010 recounted my decision not to abandon a planned European vacation scheduled to commence on September 15th, walking through a nearly deserted San Francisco International Airport to board the first post-9/11 flight from there to Milan, the reactions of people I met during three weeks in Italy, the changed-forever America I found when I returned home, and my experiences traveling by air during the following nine years.

Interesting post. 9-11 is in important day in the lives of Americans everywhere. Whether Los Angeles or New York City, we are all affected.
