European travel guru, Rick Steves, is well known to PBS viewers because of his “Rick Steves’ Europe” travelogues. But Rick also has his own radio program, Travel With Rick Steves, and interviews ordinary travelers, giving them a chance to become “radio personalities” (or at least get a few minutes of “fame”).
Dick And Rick (Steves) On The Radio
Being interviewed by Rick Steves is a great way to share your travel experiences with a wider audience than just the friends and family who
read your “Tweets” or Facebook posts from the road. Dick Jordan was “interviewed” twice by Rick during the January 2011 radio show recording sessions.
This weekend, you can hear Dick, Rick and Rick’s special guest, Fabian Reuger, talk about Germany—especially the city of Dresden, Dick’s favorite stop in Germany during his month-long trip across Europe in 2009. The show will air on public radio stations across the U.S. on Saturday, October 8th, and Sunday, October 9th. (Dick’s early-rising friends living in the San Francisco Bay Area can hear the show on KDFC at FM 89.9 and 90.3, Sunday at 6 a.m., Pacific Time. Click here to find a station near you and to check its schedule for exact date and time that the program will be broadcast).
What if you miss hearing the show “live”? Not a problem. Go to the Travels with Rick Steves program archives Website on October 9th and you can stream the program to your computer. You can also subscribe to podcasts of Travels with Rick Steves, or download and listen to a specific episode using iTunes.
Rick and his staff schedule radio show recording sessions at various times during the year. Subscribe to Tales Told From the Road updates via e-mail or RSS, follow us on Twitter, or visit our Facebook Page, to learn when you’ll have your next opportunity to talk with Rick Steves on the radio.
